In 2023, a NSW Police officer tasered a 95-yr-outdated woman, Clare Nowland, two times at an aged treatment residence in Cooma. Police declare Nowland had a knife.[169] Nowland had dementia and utilised a mobility walker. The electrical shocks induced Nowland to fall and fracture her skull. Nowland died in healthcare facility just one week later.[a
